PRUNING OF TREES

Class I pruning is the highest quality of work. This type of pruning includes pruning for aesthetic considerations as well as for structural integrity and tree health. Removal of dead branches from 1/2 inch diameter and greater would be removed.

HAZARD PRUNING
Hazard Pruning is the removal of large dead branches, decayed and weak branches 2 inches in diameter and greater. This type of pruning is to reduce hazards in high impact areas.

REMOVAL OF TREES

T&T removes both small and large trees and shrubs in a safe and organized manner. It is important that you the customer take the time to check on your trees to see if any are in decline or dead. Trees that are in decline can sometimes be saved if noticed in time. Trees that are already dead become much more dangerous as times goes on, therefore more costly. The price for tree removal includes the wood cut 18-21in. (removed if agreed upon) and complete cleanup.

STUMP GRINDING

After the removal of a tree the stump can be ground below the surface using our grinding machine. Stumps not ground can be an eyesore as well as a mowing hazard. We grind stumps 6-12 in. below grade. Debris is neatly raked into a pile where the stump had been. For an extra charge, the debris can be removed and soil and seed provided. Our stump grinder is light enough for lawns and narrow enough to fit through most gates.

CABLING & BRACING OF TREE LIMBS

Cabling & bracing helps support structurally weak crotches to minimize storm damage that can cause injury and property damage. A hole is drilled in each limb and a lag or through bolt will be inserted. A steel cable and self-holding cable ends are then installed to finish the job. Cabling is an important precautionary measure to preserve the overall structural health of a tree.

INSECT AND DISEASE CONTROL

At the first signs of noticing a tree or shrub in decline a professional should be called. By decline we mean spots on leaves, excessive leaf or bark loss or perhaps unusually light foliage. It is imperative to take action as soon as possible. Time is of the essence! It is important that the correct procedure and steps be taken. Some trees and shrubs are more prone to disease. Simple inexpensive steps can be taken to assure longer, healthier life of your trees. These steps must be taken at certain times of the year when the risk of disease and insect damage is most prevalent. T&T uses I.M.P. (integrated pest management) in conjunction with Penn State CO-operative Extension to help keep us informed of which insects and diseases are most active in your area and the best methods to control them. We also offer liquid fertilization (mostly done in fall) to help provide ailing trees and shrubs with nutrients they need. For a small fee we can have your soil tested for pH and nutrient levels.

STORM DAMAGE AND EMERGENCIES

The best way to minimize storm damage is to keep your trees healthy and pruned. But during severe weather tree damage can still occur. We provide quick response and service. At times we can become overwhelmed with emergencies. Too many calls not enough hours in the day. In this case we do the most important jobs first such as, trees blocking driveways or trees on roofs, then other jobs in the order in which they are received. If during an emergency we cannot be reached , we do check in at the office three to four times a day or we can be paged at the numbers given on our first page.

RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS

Our maintenance plan consists of a full evaluation or your property. Such as pruning of trees, insect and disease control, and fertilization. We will make recommendations on which of your trees are in most need. A schedule of when your trees should be sprayed and a price estimate (to fit your budget) will be given. Maintaining your trees a little each year helps add to the value of your property and keep tree work prices reasonable.

LOT CLEARING

Thinking of cleaning up your wooded lot or thinning it to allow in more sun? T&T will consult with you on which trees are better to remove and which ones are the better ones to keep. We call this process Selective Clearing. We will also clear for new homes, pools, decks etc.
